LIVELIHOOD & ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT
An Empowered Woman is an Empowered Community

This organization program is tailored at empowering Women and Youths to have equal access to resources, fight poverty, become independent and share opportunities with other community members at large mainly through:

  • * Vocational skills training
  • * Entrepreneurship support
  • * Business development
  • *Mentorship and leadership development

The above are achieved through carrying out activities and projects which include:

  1. Advocate  for the rights of women and girls to be considered and given a chance to be part of the community transformation and have an independent mind in decision making.
  2. Business Training and mentorship which equips the women and youths with knowledge in Entrepreneurship, Business Leadership and Management, Finance literacy skills, Book keeping, Marketing, Digital literacy for online marketing, Product pricing,  Saving and credit management.
  3. Provide Vocational and Life Skills Training in Tailoring and Fashion Design, I.C.T, Bead work and Crochet, Carpentry, Painting, Hair Dressing, urban farming technology, candle making, cosmetics making, soap making, bag making, etc.
  4. Provide startup capital which is used to setup a working space, buy business equipment/materials and tools needed to carry out a profitable project.
  5. Networking for building marketing linkages: The organization creates strategies for better marketing opportunities for the women group. The group society will network with various marketing agencies. It will also make efforts to explore other market avenues for selling the project’s related products to attract more clients and develop a brand name in the community of business. e.g social media business advertising pages and other project publishing avenues.
  6. Organizing field tours to the identified project for the women group with support of some men to visit other already established project of a kind to learn and explore more in the development of their business and for networking.
  7. Celebration of World Women’s and Youth Day: As part of awareness rising on women rights and livelihood entitlements, World Women’s Day will be celebrated through communities targeted. Women from all the selected and formed groups are mobilized for mass rally on the occasion organized by the organization
  8. Awareness Workshop on government livelihood entitlements: To increase knowledge on the existing entitlements schemes and available for disadvantaged communities.

Some of the projects include Outside catering, Wine Making, Carpentry and Joinery, Cake baking business, Live band setup, Internet Café and Secretarial bureaus.

The beneficiaries are selected from the community and given business skills and startup capital to manage their businesses with our periodic monitoring and continued mentoring

$2,000 Can support an agro processing business for 10 women
$200 Cans start a grocery shop for a woman
$500 Can organise a women's Advocacy Event
