TATCO Uganda extends Women and Youth Economic and Social Empowerment Program 2026 in Bukerere Community

Driving Sustainable Empowerment: When Technical Skills Meet Financial Inclusion

At TATCO Uganda, we believe in a foundational principle: to strengthen communities with literate, skilled and economically empowered people through Education, Training and Entrepreneurship support, with a vision of a community where people have a positive and independent mindset for a better living. True independence begins when we empower individuals with the technical mastery to create their own value.

We recently celebrated a massive milestone with our latest Business and Vocational Trainees cohort 1 2026. While many began this competitive journey, a resilient group of finalists stood the test of time. The incredible garments, intricate jewelry, and handcrafted bags they are holding were designed, cut, and stitched entirely by their own hands.

This achievement highlights the core pillars of our impact model. Youth-Led Innovation: driven by a passionate team of youths, staff and visionary directors led by Rtn. Kato Andrew, we leverage peer-to-peer mentorship to inspire grassroots transformation. A number of enrolled community women and youths in Bukerere started their training journey in January 2026 in Business Management, Financial Literacy, Digital Literacy for online Marketing, Fashion Design and Craft work, with training in all for a period of six months. Art for Sustainability: our curriculum integrates creative technical design with sustainable, circular practices, proving that art can be a powerful engine for both environmental consciousness and economic growth.

As we progress to the next project stage, those who participated fully in the trainings presented their products to the team and exhibited a lot of skills obtained and ready for market penetration.

TATCO Women and Youth Saving and Credit Group- Bukerere formation: To ensure our graduates transition seamlessly into sustainable entrepreneurship, we have launched a dedicated Savings and Credit Group. This initiative provides our beneficiaries with a reliable financial safety net, business literacy, and access to affordable asset financing. By equipping our youth and women with both creative technical skills and structural financial tools, we aren't just preparing them for jobs, we are launching a new generation of financially literate, sustainable micro-business owners.

Thank You Haella Stichting for Funding this Program. Congratulations to our resilient finalists and the entire TATCO team on this milestone!
