What We Do

Elderly Support and Care

This program is tailored to give care and support to vulnerable Elderly persons in our community in order to create a ray of hope in their lives. Beneficiaries are selected from the community by our field officers.

These are some of the activities and projects carried out under this program:

  • Provide basic home-use items during festive seasons (Easter, Idd, Christmas) so they can also enjoy the festivities in style.
  • Provide medical support to the sick where our reach allows, and work with local health centres to reach needy sick persons.
  • Organize community health camps tailored at supporting the vulnerable.
  • Organize and provide spiritual support and prayers to the sick and elderly at their homes, along with counseling.
  • Organize elders' and grandparents' annual celebrations to commemorate the International Day of Older Persons, with recreation services.
  • Organize and provide Play Mind Games to keep the elderly active and mentally sharp.
  • Provide physical and fitness exercises using professional and committed trainers, periodically, for the old and sick.
  • Make home visits to capture and document developmental stories from the elderly, passing culture and norms to the younger generation.

All the above are done in order to have a community in which all citizens — the vulnerable elderly and sick people — lead dignified, healthy, faithful and secure lives, where our reach can.
