TATCO SPORTS AND TALENT DEV’T (TSTD)

At TATCO Uganda we have a programme named #TATCO Sports and Talent Development (TSTD) programme which aims at Identifying, Training and creating competition among school children in sports, games and other playful activities that will help in developing children’s talents in addition to the Academic programs provided to them in schools.

For example in September 2022, we organized in partnership with Goma Division Education Department- Mukono District, a one day sports and games competition at Bukerere Play ground where some of our affiliate schools and others local schools competed in Football, Netball, Athletics. The winner walked away with a trophy and a Goat, second and third runner given sports uniforms and balls, sports participants given certificates, etc. Thanks to all Schools that participated and support partners mainly #Global Fund for Children (GFC), Goma Division for the support that enabled us organize a successful event.

As a result of this sports and games event, Talents were identified among children, local non school going children were motivated to join or go back to school, the heart of hard work among learners increased, community awareness of the value of education and sports, fun and relaxation among the learners and teachers, collaboration of schools, etc where achieved. Such event is intended to be carried out out among our community schools at least in every Second Academic Term of the year in our schools.

We welcome all well wishers to join us by Financing, donating sports equipments like Sports Shoes, Jerseys and Uniforms, Balls, First Aid Kits, Best games and Sports Manuals, Game Boards, Music Equipments, etc and bringing ideas which can make this program more viable and possible as planned given its importance to our community children.
