Empowering Teachers to Empower Children
Through the support from #Global Fund for Children (GFC) in their desire to build the capacity of grass root organizations with flexible funding to carry out community transformation programs effectively, once again support was given to TATCO Uganda in a collaboration with Banga Afayo Initiative in Kayunga to organize and implement a joint project for local primary school teachers under the Theme: “Empower the Teacher to Empower the children“. We had our first phase Teacher training workshops for this year 2024 jointly held in Kayunga- Nakaziba Village the home of Banga Afayo and in Mukono- Bukerere the home of TATCO Uganda. A number of primary and Nursery teachers attended and actively participated in a 2 days training workshops respectively. The Teacher refresher training program is aimed at:
- Enhancing the competence of the rural primary school teachers in Mukono and Kayunga, equipping them with advanced pedagogical skills, including the effective use of play-based teaching methods to create engaging and interactive learning experiences for their pupils.
- Improve the overall quality of education by fostering active learning, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills through well-prepared and motivated teachers.
- Empower teachers to become leaders in their communities, advocating for education, and driving innovation within the local education system.
- Provide ongoing professional growth and mentorship.
The training facilitators i.e Kaweesa Fred Sir Senior and Baidu David did a great job to facilitate and train teachers to know and understand how to integrate learning through play and how to use available resources to make toys. To add on that a TATCO Uganda’s Education team created and designed a Volume 1 book for Learning through Play Modules which was given to teachers to use while integrating them in class.
The continued love and zeal by some of the founder of TATCO Uganda i.e Mr. Kato Andrew and Banga Afayo founder Mr. Ddiba Joseph to find partners and resources needed has always enabled a lot of development programs to happen both in the organization and in communities at large. We are only saying thank you so much our strategic sponsors and partners. continue the support as a lot more is still desired to be done for the local communities. We aim to create positive vibes among the children and teachers….
This keeps us loving and believing in what we do
Thank you TATCO is waiting for you development support and input
